I thought I would take the time today to explain to everybody what my blog will be used for from now on. As you probably know, I often go without posting for extended periods of time, this is because my main goal for this blog was for it to be used for significant weather events only. It has been 10 months since I started my blog and since then I have received nearly 1,600 page views from 8 different countries! (and no that does not include my own :) I would like to try doubling that number over the next year! I would like to continue focusing on significant weather events only, this is because it would be too time consuming to update the weather every day. Some things that I would consider significant include severe storms, winter storms, ice storms, high wind events, heavy rain events over 3", the first and last freeze in the fall and spring, blizzards and extremes in temperature. Also, this past summer I finally got a Twitter and plan to send out weather information through that and Facebook as well.
This will be my last post until a significant weather event is imminent or potential for one exists, but I thought just for fun I would tell you what the farmers almanac is saying for the upcoming winter! According to them, we will have a winter "full of snow with piercing cold". Keep in mind that this is a forecast that was issued last week and winter is still more than 3 months away, as you know meteorologists have trouble with forecasting a week in advance! So, by no stretch of the imagination am I saying this will happen, but we can certainly hope that it does!! :)
